Beach & Shore Management Center (BSMC)
BSMC expresses a heartfelt welcome to all the visitors to our website.
BSMC’s research group is to develop the practical technologies of coastal conservation and arrangement project in order to continuously manage valuable coasts and to effectively response against beach erosion problems due to human interventions and climate change.
BSMC will present a prediction system (K-CoSMoS) and several guidelines for the sustainable development and conservation of beach & shore environments based on coastal engineering technology:
BSMC’s Research Goals
- Providing a field verified guideline of the shoreline countermeasures of both hard and soft approaches
- Predicting beach response and morphological change for coastal erosion countermeasures
- Estimating future change of management shorelines due to human interventions and climate change
Expected Contributions
- Providing layout design methodology of coastal structures/beach nourishment to mitigate beach erosion
- Accomplishing territory conservation against the beach erosion risk due to future climate changes
- Global Informing of practical technologies on beach erosion prediction and countermeasures
